What types of pipes are used in underground drainage?

There are various types of underground drainage pipe available in a range of sizes and used for different applications. These include terracotta PVC sewer pipe, twinwall drainage pipe, MDPE water pipe and land drainage pipe. Land drainage coil sizes range from 60-160mm and twinwall comes in sizes from 100-900mm.

Land drainage coil pipes

Land drainage coils are flexible pipes used to reduce water logging in fields, gardens and other landscaped areas with excessive rainfall or certain soil types that don't drain properly. Perforated coil has small holes cut into the corrugation of the pipe, allowing water to drain, whereas unperforated has no holes and is used to carry water to a designated watercourse.

MDPE water pipes

MDPE water pipes are made from medium density polyethylene which is a very strong material that can withstand large changes in pressure and will not change shape under stress. This pipe can be used to transport drinking or non-drinking water.

Twinwall surface pipes

Twinwall surface pipes are made of high density polyethylene and are available in perforated or unperforated. These lightweight and strong pipes feature a smooth internal surface for an increased flow rate and corrugated exterior for high compression strength enabling it to withstand high amounts of pressure.

Sewer drain pipes

Sewer pipe manufactured from PVC is durable, lightweight and has a smooth surface allowing for easy water flow. Perforated sewer pipe or underground PVC pipe is used to protect buildings by removing surface and subsurface water efficiently.
