We recently exhibited at Cereals 2021, and we had the best time! Located in the NAAC Land Drainage Hub, we were exhibiting amongst those passionate about land drainage and how important it is in the world of farming, not just for soil health but also for crop yield.
Land drainage is becoming even more topical for farmers at the moment. The Environmental Bill is placing a focus on farmers keeping their soil healthy, with soil quality at the heart of the bill. Cereals, in association with the NAAC, saw the importance of land drainage and the increasing prevalence for farmers and set up the Land Drainage hub this year, as well as hosting many talks on the subject.
These talks from various knowledgeable farmers/land drainage experts, such as Rob Burtonshaw, Dave Jones, Fred Clarke and Phil Jarvis, offered a real insight into why farmers should be prioritising land drainage and the benefits it has for them. (Insert pictures of talks) Our MD, Andrew Cotterill, who is chairman of the NAAC’s Land Drainage Division, introduced the speakers and led Q&As on the importance of land drainage.
Andrew Cotterill said on the matter: “Cereals 2021 was a fantastic event, and a great opportunity for raising the importance of land drainage. It was really great for farmers to hear the first-hand experiences of other farmers on how land drainage has changed their farming methods and led to increased benefits for them, whilst giving invaluable tips.
